Youth Choir "Voices for living in harmony"

This choir  was founded in January 2008 by Alfonso Elorriaga in order to create a mixed youth choir that promotes singing among adolescents as well as  the values ​​of school life. Since then, the choir has performed at several schools, churches and social centers around Spain. The choir has made several trips throughout Spain  and exchanges with other youth choirs. The choir has also participated in several competitions,  obtaining 20 National awards, the last one to be recognized, throughout the last three years, as a premium high quality choir all over the city of Madrid, besides to get other special educative awards from the National Board of Education from Spain.  The choir has been invited in several international Choir Festivals in Romania, China and France. Nowadays, there are two performing choirs within the project, the middle school one (13 to 17 years old) and the Young Adult Choir (18 to 25). This choir has won recently the first award in the international choral youth contest of Habaneras in Torrevieja, Alicante

Dr. Alfonso Elorriaga has made all his research about  the male changing voice, publishing several articles (and books) about this topic in various international academic journals and publications. He has been the assistant director of the Children's Choir of Madrid. He studied Music Education in the High Music School of Madrid and a postgraduate degree in music pedagogy at the Orff Institute Mozarteum University of Salzburg (Austria). He also studied choral conducting and singing at Madrid Teacher's Choir during three years. He has been a lecturer in several Spanish Universities, actually teaching at the Autonoma University of Madrid (Music Department). Recently, he's been accepted as a member on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Research in Choral Singing  published by the ACDA (American Choral Directors Association). Alfonso has been recognized several times as the best conductor within the premium category of youth choirs in Madrid.
