Youth Choir "Voices for living in harmony"

This choir was founded in January 2008 by Alfonso Elorriaga in order to create a mixed youth choir that promotes singing among adolescents as well as the values of solidarity and team-working. Since then, the choir has performed at several schools, churches and social centers around Spain. The choir has made several trips throughout Spain and exchanges with other youth choirs. The choir has also participated in several competitions, obtaining more than 20 National . The choir has participated also in several international Choral Festivals in Romania, China, Germany, Belgium, Italy and France.

Dr. Alfonso Elorriaga has made all his research about teaching adolescents to sing, publishing several national and international articles (and books) about this topic. He has been the assistant director of the Children's Choir of Madrid. He studied Music Education in the High Music School of Madrid and a postgraduate degree in music pedagogy at the Orff Institute Mozarteum University of Salzburg (Austria). He also studied choral conducting and singing at Madrid Teacher's Choir during three years. He has been a lecturer in several Spanish Universities, actually teaching at the Complutene University of Madrid (Music Department). He serves also a member on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Research in Choral Singing published by the ACDA (American Choral Directors Association). Alfonso has been recognized several times as the best conductor in several choral festivals too. Currently serves as the choral arranger of the Spanish National Theater of Zarzuela in Madrid within its pedagogical project ZARZA.
